In celebration of Earth Day, our 8th grade students were able to attend an extraordinary presentation from a renowned astronaut Jose Hernandez. He visited the Bert Ogden Arena to speak to schools from the Rio Grande Valley giving a powerful inspirational message about perseverance and determination!
He is the first migrant farmworker to become a NASA astronaut. He explained that the journey was not easy but as a first generation college student he had BIG dreams. His story depicts what resilience and the power of pursuing one’s dreams is.
