🎖️ Honoring Our Heroes on Veterans Day 2023 🎖️
This Veterans Day, Mr. D. García's AVID 2 class at La Joya Early College H.S. led an inspiring service learning project. Our students reached out to our school community, gathering generous donations to create special goodie bags and heartfelt cards.
These tokens of appreciation were lovingly prepared and gifted to the military veterans among our La Joya High School faculty and the brave members of the V.F.W. Post 3895 (La Joya).

Our amazing AVID 2 students took a heartwarming initiative to spread kindness and gratitude. In observance of World Kindness Day, they presented small tokens of appreciation to their family members, classmates, co-workers, and friends.

🎓 Alum Spotlight – "The Sky is the Limit": Mariana Cantu Reflects on Her Time at La Joya ECHS
Mariana Cantu, an alumna of La Joya Early College High School (LJECHS), recently shed light on the school's defining role in her life's trajectory and her current success as a physician assistant student at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor.
“LJECHS played a significant role in my life. It was here that I made the decision to attend Texas A&M University and pursue a career in medicine,” Mariana said.
Beyond the academic excellence she encountered, Mariana emphasizes the deeper connections she forged.
"The education I received was excellent, but what really made the difference were the educators,” Mariana said.
Mariana further noted the unwavering support she received.
"The sky is the limit to what we can accomplish, and this was reinforced during my four years here. I am incredibly grateful for the mark they made in my life, and I owe it to them to try to reach the stars,” Mariana said.
Her story underscores the profound influence of dedicated educators and institutions that not only impart knowledge but also instill belief and passion in their students.
